Delay Delays...

Hey all,

Had a slight delay.  Was recommended to get a different throttle body before the tune (to stabilise the low idle that occurs after tunes). So I went and ordered a Skunk2 Alpha Series 70mm throttle body from Mac at Forty One Automotive.  Optimistically it will arrive from the States in 1-2 weeks so fingers crossed! As soon as the throttle body arrives, the Crome tune will be back on track :)  Check back again soon!

Exhaust In!

Hey folks! Finally got exhaust in and fabricated up :) The fabricator even fixed the little manifold leak and now it runs nice though a little loud but thankfully there's a silencer. Pics and teaser vid (Please excuse the quality, my phone camera was used :P ):

Next stop, Crome tune!

Cheers!

Exhaust coming soon!

Nearly finished refurbing the exhaust! Just need a few more days to polish her up a bit so she's nice and shiny to be installed.  Long and tedious process but fun... Autosol is awesome!  In other news I'll detail the engine bay tomorrow after class and hopefully get all that dust off the intake chamber. Ciao!

Lack of updates...

Sorry all for the lack of updates, I've been handling my enrollment for my new automotive electronics course this coming 23rd so have pushed back the last few plans.  However, I've spotted a nicely priced K&N Apollo CAI kit so will order it tomorrow and hopefully get it by Tuesday :)  Then all that's left is getting the Kakimoto Exhaust installed and save up for a Crome tune! Update in a few days when I receive the K&N kit and do a write up of the install.

Hytech Style Headers Installed!

Hey guys,

Took my headers today to Spec2 Developments to get my headers installed!

Hanging a tad low but definitely worth it, it sounds awesome!

Did a great job and would highly recommend them for anyone needing fabrication work done:

Carbon Bits In!

Hey readers, update on the carbon bits.  I've finally put them in after a few minor difficulties to get the bits to sit just flush.

Packages arrived!
The rear boot ended up being a CF4 SiR-T Accord which required me to change the garnish lights and optionally, the tail lights (which you'd do so to match the garnish lights duh).

I ended up finding a Accorneo (Accord/Torneo Club Group from NZHondas) member who has the set of lights so I snapped them up and all fixed!

Next problem was the bonnet not sitting flush.  It was literally sitting approximately 10mm higher than the right guard!

Boo.
After some research, found that aftermarket bonnets will need to be adjusted and is done so in two ways:
-Adjusting the hood latch
-Adjusting the bonnet hinges

For a guide on those, refer to the modifications section.

After some adjusting, here are the results:

As for other updates, I'm currently polishing up the Kakimoto exhuast and Top Fuel Intake.  Will get pictures of the progress up in the next few days.  Laters!

Awesome update!

Howdy readers! Big update now.. The carbon bits have just arrived in NZ and I'll go pick it up on Wednesday after work! So will update post and modification pages!

In other news, I've decided to pull the trigger and for a single exit Kakimoto exhaust instead! I've managed to score a deal with a guy selling one second hand so will pick it up this Friday.  Bit of a fixer-upper but am looking forward to the polishing process and bringing out the shine again :)

Lastly, I've also picked up a Top Fuel Zero 1000 Power Chamber Intake from a dude selling his bits off.  While it also needs some TLC, I have already started resanding and polishing it back to its former glory.  I'll update the mods section regarding this and all that's left is the K&N Apollo CAI system to get for the I/H/E mods.  I'll be discarding the old pod filter as I get the Apollo. Catch ya'll in a bit!

Update!

Update time folks,

ETA of the carbon fibre bits is at 24/4/12.  Meanwhile, I managed to score a good deal with a few club members on an h22a tri-y Hytech style headers! So I went down to Tauranga today to pick it up.  Here are some pics:

In it's box
Opens it up...
All put together
With a bit of coercing, it did eventually all fit and slapped it together nicely :D

Next objective is to find the right exhaust to pair with this magnificent piece of fabrication :D  Stay tuned folks :D

Update again :-)

Howdy,

Running around the whole week getting the little bits and pieces fixed.  Got the wheels back with new Toyo T1Rs all round and fixed all curbs! Looking like new again so next step was to drop her off to Mr. Sun, my panelbeater.  Getting the rear left door and quarter fixed, mirrors repainted and the roof painted black! Will get her back hopefully by next tuesday.  Thats all for now folks!

Update! And sad news...

Hey readers,

Just a quick update. Took car in to get Buddyclubs refurbed and Toyo T1Rs put in :)

However sad news, while I was getting wheels inspected and quoted I saw a big scrape some lovely driver decided to leave on the left rear quarter! Fuuuuuuuuuh! I was pissed but oh well good thing I was planning on taking in the R to the panelbeaters to repaint roof, skirts and mirrors.  Just need to add this to the list I guess hehe

Might pay my panelbeater a visit tomorrow after I pick my R up from the wheel guys.

Elsewhere, the carbon fibre boot and hood are estimated to arrive in 2 weeks! Will update again when they arrive.  Cheers guys!

Carbon Fibre Trims and New Non-Rice Wipers Installed

Hey guys,

Just a small easy update today.  Went and picked up the carbon fibre interior trims today and installed it.  Here's a before and after shot:

Plain Jane
Saucy Suzy

Rest of the switch panels were also replaced with the matching carbon fibre covers.  Nice uncommon OEM Honda option which add a little touch of sleekness in the interior!

Then along the way it started pouring down and noticed the wipers are starting to lose their efficiency.  So I dropped by Repco to pick up a wiper blade refill pack.  This time I won't go for the ricey red wipers.  Just the normal black silicon type that does it's job properly (not to look "cool").  Call it growing up! Awwww but yes, that's that taken care of :)

Got rice?
Normalcy
Lastly, managed to track down a rear interior high stop brake light! Will be shipped over in the next few days so I'm definitely ready for the rear carbon fibre boot to arrive now! Anyways that's all folks, catch ya later!

Meanwhile, in other news, I have sourced some carbon fibre look interior covers! Collecting them next week! Stay tuned for picture of it installed!  Here's what it looks like for those that need some pictures:

Mugen Style Grill Installed!

Howdy folks!

Just arrived back in Auckland and first thing I did when I got home was not unpack my baggage. I said hello to my rabbit Genghis who doesn't seem to recognise me then I went straight to the garage to install the grill!

Here are the before and after pics:

Before

After

In a few weeks the bonnet will be a carbon fibre one so check back on that! I shall write up the process guide of doing the grill DIY style later for those who wonder how I installed it (IT WAS NOT A STRAIGHT FORWARD INSTALL). Check up on the guide in the modifications section.  Until the carbon bonnet update, catch ya guys later!

Mini Update!!! Mugen Styled Grill and Carbon Fibre Bonnet on Order!

Hi all, I mentioned a few weeks back that I was getting the exhaust and intake sorted? Well, na. Waiting on the exhaust though hopefully the guy selling it is just on holiday hence no word :P But keeping myself busy nonetheless! Found a Mugen styled grill for sale and snapped it up today (Thanks to my sis for handling all the certing and parts purchases while I've been on holiday overseas).  Here's a pic:

In other news, I've also put down an order for an OEM carbon fibre bonnet! Will arrive in February so will have an update on that sometime then as well.

Once I return next Thursday, I'll redo the grill into black and install a mesh to suit and install in the R! So will update then :D

Laters!!!
